Camel Vale Motor Club was formed in the late 50's from the old Wadebridge & District Motor Club and The Bodmin Light Car Club, and catered for both cars and motor cycles. By 1963 an inevitable occurred and the cars and bikes split forming two separate clubs with both retaining the Camel Vale name with the bikes using the word "Cycle" to differentiate the two.
At present the club is in a very healthy state with just over 200 members annually who partake in the various activities the club provides, ranging from; trials, autotests, sporting trials, navigational scatters, road rallies, and more recently the Castle Hillclimb opened by Don Statton, a long time hill climber.
Of the twenty or so events run each year the hill climb offers the biggest challenge to the band of regular organisers who make these events possible.
